How To Assemble Food Tents
Supply List
- PAPER: 110lb White Cardstock. This is the "gold standard." It’s thick enough to stand up on its own.
- Scissors or Paper Trimmer
- Scoring Tool : If you don't have a scoring board, a ruler and a dried-out ballpoint pen work perfectly to "dent" the fold line so the paper snaps into a perfect tent shape.
Step 1: Trim Your Labels
- Print your labels on heavy cardstock.
- Using your paper trimmer, cut along the outer edges of the rectangles.
Step 2: Score the Center
- To get a professional, "non-floppy" tent, you need a crisp fold.
- Place a ruler across the exact center of the label (where the front and back meet).
- Run your scoring tool (or dull knife) along the ruler to create a "dent" in the paper. This prevents the cardstock from cracking when you fold it.
Step 3: Fold & Display
- Gently fold the label along your scored line.
- Press down firmly with your finger to set the crease.
- Stand the "tent" up on your buffet table!
